Driving Education Forward: Putting Murray Students First on the Green
Join us for a day of camaraderie, competition, and community as we kick off the 2026-2027 school year! Since 1999, this tournament has been the cornerstone of our mission to support Murray students and educators. To date, proceeds from it have funded 1,802 classroom grants totaling $583,000, but more importantly fueling innovations that have benefited tens of thousands of students.
Tournament Play
The tournament is a 4-person scramble format where each player tees off and the team plays from the best shot, continuing this process until the ball is holed. Mulligans can be purchased in advance or the day of the event.
All Participants: The Annual Golf Tournament offers a comprehensive package for participants, including breakfast, snack, lunch food and beverage options throughout the day, powering all golfers toward some amazing competition incentives and prize drawings. Teams have the chance to win cash prizes for a top-three finish ($100, $75, and $50 for each team member) and participate in contest holes and prize drawings for 80+ very nice donated prizes. Additionally, all attendees will receive great tee gifts and vendor swag.

is undeniable as they step up each year to ensure critical programs and learning opportunities are supported. This sponsorship includes: Up to one team of golfers, high-level print and digital recognition, up to two branded swag-bag contributions, second choice of hole to host hospitality tent, grouped social media spotlight, two advertisements in Murray Matters Newsetter. - $2000 – Gold: Strategic Advocate Sponsorship: Our strategic advocates not only contribute, but ralley others to join in. Their injection of support helps us achieve community momentum and are a critical component of our advocacy of students and teachers. - $1000 – Lunch Sponsor: End the tournament with high impact. Our lunch and awards sponsors celebrate community victory, associating your organization with achievement, nourishment, and the grand finale of our fundraising efforts. This sponsorship includes: High-visibility logo placement at the tournament lunch area, one team of four golferas, standard print and digital recognition.
Format, Procudure, Mulligans and Rules
- Format: Scramble with 4-person team for 18 holes.
- Procedure: Each team member hits a tee shot, and the team selects one ball to play. Each team member plays his or her next shot from within one club length of the location of the chosen ball. The team selects the best ball to play, and each player shoots from within one club length of that ball. Repeat the procedure until a ball is holed.
- Mulligans: Players may pre-purchase as many mulligans as they wish at $10 through August 27 (8 am). The morning of the tournament mulligans may be purchased for $15 each. Mulligans may not be used on contest holes. Each Mulligan is good for ONE replayed shot by the player who purchased it (NOT the entire team).
Rules:
- Each player’s tee shot may be used a maximum of 5 times (teams of 3, 6 times) over the 18 holes; Please indicate on the scorecard whose tee shot was used.
- If chosen shot is in rough or bunker, all team members must also shoot from there.
- Do not tap in short putt out of turn – hole is complete once a ball is holed.
- Men use blue tees and women use silver tees.
- Golfers aged 60+ may use white tees, and women 60+ may use yellow tees; Men age 70+ may use silver tees.
- Final team scores will be adjusted by deducting two strokes for each woman on the team.
- Card ties broken using the #1 handicap hole.
